Migrate to ApexWeave —
We Handle Everything. 24/7 Support Included.

Updated April 2026 · 8 min read

Moving from Heroku, cPanel, Render, Railway or any other host? We've done hundreds of migrations. You don't have to do it alone — our engineers are on standby to do it with you, or for you.

Migrations are stressful. Downtime, broken database connections, DNS confusion, SSL not issuing, environment variables missing — we've seen every failure mode. That's why ApexWeave does something most hosting companies don't: we get in the chat with you and help you through every step, in real time, until you're live.

This isn't a support ticket that gets answered in 48 hours. This is a real engineer — someone who has set up hundreds of deployments — helping you solve the problem right now.

Support That Actually Shows Up

While other hosts point you to a knowledge base article, we get in the chat. Real engineers. Real answers. No bots, no scripts, no ticket queues.

Why People Are Migrating in 2026

The hosting landscape has shifted dramatically. Here's what's driving most migrations we see:

  • Heroku removed its free tier and raised prices — thousands of solo developers and small teams are leaving
  • Render's cold starts are killing shared app demos and portfolio links — free tier spins down after 15 minutes of inactivity
  • Railway's billing surprises — usage-based pricing that's hard to predict, especially for apps with variable traffic
  • cPanel/shared hosting limitations — no git deployment, slow PHP, noisy neighbours, no isolation
  • Fly.io complexity — Dockerfiles and fly.toml configs before you can even say hello world
  • Support that doesn't support — chatbots, knowledge bases, 2-day ticket responses when your production site is down

The last point is the one we hear most. Technical problems are solvable. But solving them alone at midnight, with a client's site down, while a support ticket sits "In Review" — that's genuinely painful. We built ApexWeave to be different on that specific dimension.

What Makes Our Support Different

Most hosting companies offer "24/7 support" that means a Level 1 agent reading from a script. Here's what we actually do:

  • Real engineers answer — the people in support understand servers, deployments, databases, DNS, and code. Not just ticket categories.
  • We stay until it's resolved — we don't close your ticket and move on. If your migration is taking 3 hours, we're in that chat for 3 hours.
  • We do migrations with you — if you're moving from Heroku or cPanel, we walk through every step: database export, import, DNS cutover, environment variables, SSL — all of it.
  • We speak your language — literally. Support is available in English, French, Arabic, Japanese, Vietnamese, and more. You don't need to struggle with technical English to get help.
  • No support tiers — you don't need a premium plan to get real help. Every customer on every plan gets the same engineering support.
"I was migrating a client's WordPress site at 11pm and something went wrong with the database import. I messaged ApexWeave support expecting to hear back the next day. Someone responded in 4 minutes and stayed in the chat until the site was live at 1am. That doesn't happen with other hosts." — Developer, Philippines

Migration Paths — Where Are You Coming From?

Migrating from

Heroku → ApexWeave

Same git push workflow. Same environment variables. Connect your GitHub repo, copy your config vars, point your domain. Your app works the same way it did on Heroku — except the free tier doesn't expire and there are no cold starts.

Database migration: Export with heroku pg:backups:capture + heroku pg:backups:download, import into your ApexWeave PostgreSQL. We'll help you with the import command live if needed.

⚡ Support can migrate your Heroku app with you in real time
Migrating from

cPanel / Shared Hosting → ApexWeave

If you're on Hostinger, GoDaddy, SiteGround, or any cPanel host, you're probably tired of FTP, slow PHP, and shared server problems. ApexWeave gives you isolated containers, git deployment, and actual performance.

WordPress migration: Export your site with All-in-One WP Migration or Duplicator, import into your ApexWeave WordPress instance. We handle the DNS cutover and SSL with you to make sure there's zero downtime.

⚡ Support will walk you through the full cPanel to ApexWeave move
Migrating from

Render → ApexWeave

Already have a Render setup? Migration is fast — your render.yaml or dashboard configuration maps almost directly to ApexWeave. Connect your repo, set the same environment variables, point your domain. Done. No more cold starts.

⚡ Support can compare your Render config and replicate it
Migrating from

Railway → ApexWeave

Railway uses similar git-based deploy concepts. Your project connects to the same repo, environment variables move over directly. The key difference: fixed pricing instead of usage-based billing — you know exactly what you're paying every month.

⚡ Support will help you audit your Railway usage and plan the right ApexWeave tier
Migrating from

Fly.io → ApexWeave

Leaving Fly because of Dockerfile complexity or the fly.toml learning curve? ApexWeave detects your project type from the repo — no Docker required. We support Node, Python, Laravel, Rails, Go natively. Bring your app code, leave the container config behind.

⚡ Support will help you remove Docker dependencies and deploy natively
Migrating from

Kinsta / WP Engine / Cloudways → ApexWeave

If you're paying $25–$50/month for managed WordPress and want the same isolation and performance at a fraction of the price, we'll migrate your WordPress sites. Export your backup file, we help you import, configure, and go live. Your client won't notice the switch.

⚡ Support handles WordPress migrations with guaranteed zero content loss

The Migration Process — Step by Step

Here's exactly what happens when you migrate to ApexWeave. At every step, support is available to jump in:

1

Sign up — no credit card needed

Create your account. The free tier is immediately active. You can test your app fully before committing to a paid plan.

💬 Open a chat and tell us what you're migrating — we'll tell you exactly which plan fits.

2

Export your data from your current host

Database dump, WordPress export, app files — depending on your current host. We provide exact commands for Heroku, Railway, Render, cPanel, and others.

💬 If you're not sure how to export from your current host, ask support — we'll give you the exact commands.

3

Connect your repo and configure your app

Connect GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket. Set your runtime, start command, and environment variables. For WordPress, use the one-click installer.

💬 Share your screen or paste your config in chat — support will spot anything missing before you deploy.

4

Import your database

Restore your MySQL or PostgreSQL dump into your ApexWeave managed database. Run migrations if needed. Verify data integrity.

💬 If the import fails or throws errors, paste the output in chat — support resolves database issues immediately.

5

Test on a temporary URL

Every app gets a .apexweave.app subdomain before you point your real domain. Test everything — login flows, database reads/writes, file uploads — before touching DNS.

💬 Tell support what you're testing — we'll check server logs in real time if something looks off.

6

DNS cutover — zero downtime

Point your domain's DNS to ApexWeave. SSL issues automatically within minutes. Your old server keeps running until the new one is confirmed live.

💬 Support monitors your DNS propagation with you and confirms the moment your site is live on the new server.

7

Cancel your old hosting

Once everything is confirmed working on ApexWeave — app, database, domain, SSL — you're done. Cancel your old plan and stop paying for something you no longer need.

💬 Support confirms everything is healthy before you pull the trigger on cancelling.

Migrating a WordPress Site — Full Walkthrough

WordPress migrations are the most common thing we help with. Here's the full process:

  1. On your current host: Install the All-in-One WP Migration plugin, export your full site (database + files) as a single .wpress archive
  2. On ApexWeave: Create a new WordPress instance (one click), go to Tools → All-in-One WP Migration → Import
  3. Upload your .wpress file — ApexWeave imports your database, all posts, media, themes, and plugins exactly as they were
  4. Update your URL: The site will have your old domain in the database — update via WP-CLI: wp search-replace 'olddomain.com' 'newdomain.com' --precise
  5. Test on your temporary URL — browse every page, check forms, check checkout if WooCommerce
  6. Point your domain — update your DNS A record to ApexWeave's IP, SSL issues automatically
  7. You're done
Support is with you at every step of the WordPress migration. If the import gets stuck, if the URL replace misses something, if your SSL takes longer than expected — message us and we're in the chat within minutes.

Migration Checklist

Before you start, make sure you have:

  • ☐ Database backup / export from current host
  • ☐ List of all environment variables from current host
  • ☐ Access to your domain's DNS settings (Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.)
  • ☐ Your git repository URL (GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket)
  • ☐ Any uploaded media/files that aren't in your git repo
  • ☐ ApexWeave account created (free, no credit card)
  • ☐ Support chat open — so you can ask questions in real time as you go

After You Migrate — What Happens Next

Once you're on ApexWeave, support doesn't disappear. We stay engaged:

  • Performance questions — if your app feels slow after migration, we look at logs and help you diagnose
  • Scaling advice — when your traffic grows, we help you understand which plan to move to and when
  • New deployments — adding a second app, setting up a staging environment, connecting a database — support is there
  • Billing questions — if you're unsure about your invoice or want to upgrade/downgrade, a real person handles it
"Most hosting support is copy-paste replies from a knowledge base. ApexWeave actually looked at my deployment logs, told me exactly which environment variable was missing, and had me live in 20 minutes. That's the difference." — Full-stack developer, Nigeria

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you help with migrations or do I do it myself?

Both options are available. Most customers migrate themselves with our step-by-step guide. But if you run into any problem — or just want someone with you from the start — our engineers will guide you through every step in live chat. This is free on all plans.

How long does a migration take?

A simple app migration (connect repo, copy env vars, point domain) takes 15–30 minutes. A WordPress site migration with database import takes 30–60 minutes. A complex multi-app setup might take 2–3 hours. Our engineers stay with you for the full duration.

Will there be downtime during migration?

No. We always test on your temporary .apexweave.app URL first, confirm everything is working, then do the DNS cutover. Your old site stays live until the new one is confirmed healthy. Downtime is typically zero.

Can you migrate WordPress from cPanel / Hostinger / SiteGround?

Yes. The All-in-One WP Migration plugin exports your entire site — database, media, plugins, themes — as one file that imports directly into ApexWeave WordPress. Support will help with the full process.

What if something goes wrong during migration?

Message support immediately. We see your server logs, we know what error messages mean, and we fix problems fast. No migration has ever been left broken — we stay until it's resolved.

Is support available in my language?

Yes. Support is available in English, French, Arabic, Japanese, Vietnamese, and other languages. You don't need to describe a technical problem in imperfect English — we understand you.
